Job description

Limehome dreams big: We want to lead the digital revolution in the hospitality industry. Our vision is to become the most loved brand in travelling, accommodation, and serviced living. We're a customer-first company that is all-in on working and building together as one team that supports each other. To achieve our vision, Limehome is both expanding in size and to new countries. We are looking for people to help us drive our vision and improve on our guest experience!

How you'll be hosting with heart: As a working student, you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers in one of our product teams to contribute to our production systems. You will work on real product features, participate in code reviews, and help improve internal tools and services. The goal is to give you practical experience building and shipping software while learning from senior engineers.

Job requirements

As a candidate, you must be:

  • currently enrolled in a Computer Science or related technical degree

  • able to work 15–20 hours per week during the semester

and we hope that you:

  • have experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, including university, professional, or open-source projects

  • experience working with others and collaborating on software projects in a team setting

  • have solid backend programming fundamentals (data structures, debugging, Git) and familiarity with testing practices

  • interest in experimenting with AI-assisted development workflows and integrating AI capabilities into products. We are actively exploring this area and use tools such as Cursor in our engineering workflows.

We're designed to stay because:

  • Onboarding and Feedback: We make sure that you’ll have a smooth start through our well thought-out onboarding process. Develop yourself through constant feedback and peer reviews.

  • Oneteam: A transparent company culture with team stand-ups, regular all-hands, suite company events (Summer, Wiesn).

  • Everything for our limehomies: Up to 24 paid vacation days in a year, discounts at Urban Sports Club, support with mental health (Nilo.health), staycations in one of our suite Limehomes, and many more benefits.

  • Competitive Salary: live comfortably in Munich as a working student with our salary of €22 per hour

  • Free Drinks and Snacks: We always provide fresh fruit, healthy snacks and chocolate, as well as juices and coffee.

Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We know that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome gets in the way of meeting incredible candidates, and don’t want it to get in the way of meeting you. We want people to feel comfortable expressing their true selves and to come, stay, and do their best work here - not just candidates who check all the boxes

About Product & Engineering: Our department is full of wonderful people from all over the world, working from our office in Munich in a hybrid model, as well as remotely in special cases. We believe in self-organising teams that work independently and who care about the guest experience and fully own it. We want our teams to grow and develop as engineers and people. This is backed with plenty of opportunities to learn from others, from pair-programming to regular tech-talks. We love finding the solutions that create an impact for our guests, which means constant growth and embracing both change and failures.

Right now there are about 30 of us across 5 teams in the Product & Engineering department. We work with multiple technologies (TypeScript, Python) leveraging common frameworks (Angular, NestJS, Django) on top of the ECS & serverless frameworks running on AWS. Our teams work with code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to continuously ship improvements.
